In general I am not excited about modern urban art, but this I like. It's a 'menhier' group, close to my office. Is 'menhier' the correct word? I looked it up in the dictionary but I coudn't find the correct English word, neither the correct Dutch word.
Any way, I find it an interesting idea, it's a combination of concrete and nature.
I would not award these concrete cones with the term menhir, but I find these structures interesting and well placed in this open air space.

*) And in French and Spanish it is also correct :) In Russian is something like Менгир = mengir. There is no Dutch in this dictionary :(

ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a particular word in English for menhir. It is a French word (and apparently Spanish too!).

Menhir or menhir-like or sticky-out thingies (!), I like them too. Amazingly, since I wouldn't even have called it art in the first place.

(I am not sure about anything today, hahahaha!!)
I don't know about these things...are they supposed to represent trees?
