Basement of Winkel van Sinkel

The basement of the restaurant/pub Winkel van Sinkel is interesting to take a look at when you are in Utrecht. The old city has a lot of basements, cellar and vaults, some dating back very very long ago. This basement hosts the toilets, a seond bar, a night restaurant, dance places, the kitchen and what knows more..

Clogs for sale

At a market in Holland you usually have the option to buy wooden shoes. They usually only cost around 15 €. You might think that it is uncomfortable to wear them, the contrary is treu. It is surprisingly comfortable. You don't wear them at home or in the office, but outside, in the garden, when you are doing work. Here a  man needed new ones because they do become worn.

I have seen a beautiful bronze statue at the 'cow market' of Woerden. Very interesting but 350 Euro is a prize which I find too much.

Stonework

A picture of an awesome stonework I seen at a church in Utrecht. It is from the middle-ages. It survived because it has been plastered behind a wall during the Reformation. It depicts the woman at the empty grave of Christ.
