After almost 5 years of blogging I have come to close my blog. It has been part of my daily ritual to select a picture and upload it. I enjoyed it very much including reading the comments and to follow other bloggers. Also the little group of Dutch bloggers meetings was nice to experience. But the recent months I have come to a point where I became engaged in other activities and changed interest.
Therefore I wish all other Dialy Photo bloggers the best, thanks for the comments and good luck blogging!
The bikes in the front are not so different, but in the back there are four different bikes. One of them caught my attention, the orange bike appeard to be a real 'Holland bike' orange colours with the national vlag.
It is summer, but not that much, behind the clouds the sun shines I know. We had a few days sun and since yesterday a clouded sky again. But it doesn't matters, each day of sun is one!
Hello fellow bloggers, it has been a while since my last post.
I have been very busy with graduation from a parttime study,
that I completely forgot about posting on Daily.
After 6 years I finally can put MSc in fornt of my name.
This means I have plenty of time again for idol activities
like posting pictures on my blog. :) ....
My last shot of the snow, it is predicted that this weekend is the last weekend with cold weather, then, the spring will start!! So predict the weathermen.
The pictures I post on my blog are all made with my Iphone. Since I have an Iphone I hardly use my camera. But this picture is weird: I never made this shot, yet it is in my photo folder... strange, I never seen this, it are Chinese dragons, I haven't been here.. That shoudn't be possible right?
Two guys are fishing in city-moat, patiently observed by a heron. In my perception most of the semi-wild animals who share our living space seem to be ignorant of human presence, but now the heron was focused on the hands of the fisherman. They did catch a pike, but they put it back in the moat. To the dismay of the heron I recon.
Somebody is having his birthday at the office, time for a Dutch? treat; a Moorkop, choux pastry filled with cream, topped with chocolate and cream on top.
Woerden is not big on Carneval, I believe it is not celebrated, but in Harmelen they do, that is the town bordering Woerden. It's my home town so I have been down there so see how things were going.
Ad from one of our newspapers, it says Good People and what good people are supposed to do and think. Personally I find the add a bit cavil/ carp. It is soaked in political correct messages.
At the exhibition on Woerden in the .. I spotted a photo of the city of Woerden about 60 years ago. In those days the city was more or less still within the city-moat. Now a days the city has grown about 5 to 6 times it size. But the skyline has always remained the same though. I recognize it immediately.
Yes! We have snow and freezing weather. I love this type of weather. It gave the traffic yesterday a real nuisance, The Netherlands had about 1000km traffic jam, which was a new record.
I think it's time for a new car... I took this shot when I worked for a caterer who catered for the new years party at the Aston Martin dealer. We were a bit nervous to cater for such a posh public, but the atmosphere was really releaxed and friendly. Old money is more educated then new money I guess. The good thing is we are invited to do much more catering for them, they really liked our food :)
City in the west of the Dutch province Utrecht, founded by the Romans in 40 AD as a castellum at the Northern Fronteer of the Roman Empire. Received city rights in 1372, forensic city for North and South Holland's bigger cities, 33.650 inhabitants.
