Concrete and Nature

In general I am not excited about modern urban art, but this I like. It's a 'menhier' group, close to my office. Is 'menhier' the correct word? I looked it up in the dictionary but I coudn't find the correct English word, neither the correct Dutch word.
Any way, I find it an interesting idea, it's a combination of concrete and nature.

I would not award these concrete cones with the term menhir, but I find these structures interesting and well placed in this open air space.

I used term menhir in Polish-English dictionary, and it is correct for both languages* :)

For me it is 'menhir-like' structure.

*) And in French and Spanish it is also correct :) In Russian is something like Менгир = mengir. There is no Dutch in this dictionary :(

For whatever reason, I'm reminded of the Coneheads in SNL. And I did like them so this has got to be a good sign! :)

I like the way that one group of them is standing in the water!

Very interesting. Does not look out of place at all.

I don't think there is a particular word in English for menhir. It is a French word (and apparently Spanish too!).

I would just call them concrete sticky-outy thingies! :)

Menhir or menhir-like or sticky-out thingies (!), I like them too. Amazingly, since I wouldn't even have called it art in the first place.

Mmmm, I am not sure if I like it, but I like the combination of colours, green and grey!
Menhir we call them also (from Asterix!!) but I am not sure if there is a Greek word for them..
(I am not sure about anything today, hahahaha!!)

I don't know about these things...are they supposed to represent trees?

Maybe to see them in person would help. Or maybe they should be painted bright green...

Nice shot, though.

Very unusual and interesting sculpture. And something I guess you see and pass every day. Thanks for sharing.
