Grote Kerk Vianen
This is a shot of the magnificent old church of Vianen, a town not so far away. It is a huge 'temple'. It started of in 1327 as a little chapel dedicated to 'Our dear lady of Ascension'. In 1540, then extended to a 'hall' church, it was destroyed by a fire. The next build church is the building you see in the picture. No mayor constructions took place since that time. But a big change happened on 25 September of 1566 when the images and statues were removed during the Reformation. It has remained a Protestant church ever since and till today an active community.
I will post the coming days some shots I made during a visit.
